International Bridges to Justice Youth believes that every child deserves to have access to a lawyer and to have their legal rights respected. Children in prisons and detention centres are extremely vulnerable to abuse, and we are mobilizing youth globally to raise awareness and respond to this.

As the International Bridges to Justice Youth movement, we are a group of young people who are responding to the human rights crisis that is happening presently to juveniles in detention without access to a lawyer and without a fair trial.

IBJ Youth have taken it upon ourselves to tackle the issue of mass youth incarceration, we believe the youth are emerging as a powerful force in the global movement towards providing access to justice. As a group, they have consistently demonstrated their affinity for both fundraising and awareness efforts. Despite their talent and potential, young people are not being effectively utilized and we believe they can positively contribute to human rights.

We are a youth for youth justice movement, made up of youth ambassadors from around the world who are committed to protecting the rights of children and juveniles. The IBJ Youth for Youth Justice initiative raises awareness, educates, mobilises the public and engages lawyers to help realize a more just world, where the rights of children and juveniles are upheld.
